ELLIOT Yeo has become the third Brisbane Lions youngster to request a trade to his home state, asking to return to Western Australia.
Yeo joins teammates Patrick Karnezis (Victoria) and Jared Polec (South Australia) in asking to be traded.
Victorians Billy Longer and Sam Docherty are also exploring a possible return home, but have yet to finalise a decision.
Yeo, 19, was taken with the 30th pick of the 2011 NAB AFL Draft and has played 27 games in his two seasons.
He played 19 matches in 2013 and appeared a cornerstone of the Lions' future with his pace and rebound from half-back.
But the Club has not given up retaining Yeo.
"Despite Elliot Yeo expressing his desire to head home to Western Australia, we regard him as a required player at the Brisbane Lions," Lions national talent manager Rob Kerr said.
"We value Elliot highly as both a player and a person, and as such, we will be focused on retaining his services."
The five youngsters either requesting or contemplating trades were all top-30 picks in the past three drafts.
However, along with Longer and Docherty, the 24-year-old may wait until the Lions appoint a senior coach to make a firm decision.
