The Brisbane Lions’ have secured the services of promising key-forward, Michael Close, for a further three years.
Close, whose new agreement will seem him at the Lions until at least the end of 2017, made his debut for the Lions earlier this season in the Club’s season opener against Hawthorn.
Close, joins housemate Sam Mayes and teammates, Josh Green and Jack Redden, as a string of Lions who have signed new deals with the Club.
Hailing from Harrow in country Victoria, Close was drafted by the Lions with Pick No. 32 in the 2012 NAB AFL Draft.
Close said his decision was an easy one and is excited about the future of the Club.
“We have a really young list and an exciting future ahead so extending my time at the Club was an easy decision,” said Close.
“I’ve lived with a couple of the other boys since I arrived and we’ve become really good mates. I want to continue playing my footy alongside these guys and hopefully taste some success with them too.”
