A STANDOUT performance in the NEAFL has earned Harris Andrews an AFL recall with the 18-year old named in the final 22 to take on Adelaide on Saturday.
Reserves coach Shane Woewodin said in this week’s Reserves Wrap that Andrews was best on ground in the 10-point loss to Eastlake in Canberra on the weekend.
Andrews, who has played eight senior games, was commended for his influence in the air in the Reserves. He took 14 marks and had 25 disposals playing as a key back.
Ryan Harwood and James Aish have also returned to the Lions’ line-up.
Harwood played in the NEAFL last weekend to regain match fitness after he was taken from the field with concussion in Brisbane’s loss to St Kilda in late May. He had 33 touches, providing drive off half back and leadership to the young group.
Aish resumes his place in the Lions’ side after missing two matches with a broken jaw.
Nick Robertson (shoulder) is expected to miss two weeks with a grade two AC Strain and Ryan Lester and Zac O’Brien have been omitted.
