Caroline Wilson - Keynote Speaker
Based in Melbourne, Caroline Wilson is one of the biggest names in the AFL's media circle with several years' experience under belt.
A multiple Walkley Award winning Australian sports journalist and chief football writer for The Age since 1999, Wilson will provide an invaluable perspective to the game.
Wilson was the first woman to cover Australian Rules football on a full-time basis and the first woman to win the AFL's gold media award.
She has won the AFL Players' Association's football writer of the year (1999) and the AFL Media Association's most oustanding football writer and most outstanding feature writer (2000, 2003, 2005). Caroline also won a Melbourne Press Club Quill Award in 2003.
This is your chance to hear from the best in the business, gaining an insight into her views of the game as well as on AFL in Queensland and women's footy.
Victoria Carthew - MC
Victoria is a highly respected journalist, presenter, broadcaster, producer and emcee, and has more than two decades of media experience. Currently a presenter with Seven Network's popular travel and lifestyle program, 'Queensland Weekender', Victoria is also a regular guest on both Radio 4BC and ABC 612.
As an expert sport commentator, Victoria was the AFL's first female boundary rider and is passionate about supporting and increasing participation in sports.
In recent times, she has hosted events for the Queensland Firebirds, Surf Lifesaving Queensland, small business and tourism breakfasts, and facilitated sports forums for the State government.
Victoria is also a director for Stadiums Queensland and is on the Advisory Council for the Sporting Wheelies Association.
In addition to her passion for sport, Victoria is also sought after for her views on lifestyle issues including travel and food, news, family and fashion.
