Our total number of clearances - Despite leading the way with hit-outs, Port Adelaide were able to be first to the ball and dominate the clearance count. Port Adelaide finished the game with 52 clearances to our 34, reflecting Power's ability to out position our midfielders. | |
Our total number of tackles - Coming off our Round 6 game where we managed to lay 98 tackles, we could only manage 75 tackles to Port's 86. Speaking after the game Justin Leppitsch said: “We got smashed in clearances and that normally means you get smashed in contested possessions, which we did… and then we missed 52 tackles so we couldn’t win it back.” One positive to take from the tackling numbers is our tackles inside forward 50. In this area we were able to lay 17 tackles to Port's 13. | |
Our efficiency inside 50 - We managed 21 shots from 51 inside 50's, as opposed to Port Adelaide who went at 54% with 36 shots from 66 inside 50's. |
