THE BRISBANE Lions have blasted music around the Gabba at Thursday's main training session to replicate the hostile environment they expect when facing Carlton at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
Lions players conducted their session amid a mix of recorded crowd noises and music as they prepare for the hostility of away environments.
In five interstate matches this season, the Lions have lost by an average of 65 points, with their closest defeat coming against the Western Bulldogs by 53.
"We talk about it," coach Justin Leppitsch said.
"We've spoken about it with our leaders to make sure they lead the way in that area for our young boys.
"We're doing some different things out there today … if you go out there and have a look, get some crowd noise going and some different things to try and get us used to a hostile environment.
"A lot of it's the player's ability to think and concentrate through that pressure and still be able to perform that task.
"That doesn't change no matter where you play."

The travel bug is not new to Leppitsch, with his team winning just five times on the road in his two-and-a-half seasons at the helm.
The last time the Lions won out of Brisbane was in the corresponding match against the Carlton in round six last year.
This time will be no pushover though, with the Blues having won five of their past six matches to be one of the form teams of the competition.
Leppitsch said he was impressed with their play, and even likened them to Hawthorn, who defeated the Lions at the weekend.
"They're red hot at the moment," he said.
"Credit to them, they're playing some good footy.
"(They're) very similar to the team we played last week, to be honest. They have good forward pressure and they're really well systemised.
"Not a huge scoring team, but very much do the defensive part of the game well."
The Lions will welcome back skipper Tom Rockliff from a hamstring injury that has kept him on the sidelines the past three weeks.
