Captain Tom Rockliff made an outstanding comeback from hamstring injury against the Blues on Saturday which has earned him a spot in the AFL’s Team of the Week.
Rockliff's good form saw him record 18 contested possessions, 13 clearances, nine tackles and a goal in a team that won the contested footy count 129-113.
His career-best 48 disposals was also a record for any player at Etihad Stadium.
While the fans were happy with his performance on the day, AFL Fantasy fans would have been excited to see him return.
Rockliff, touted by 'The Traders' as a 'Fantasy Pig', was our top scorer for the game with a total of 184 points after gathering 48 disposals, 18 contested possessions, nine tackles, 13 clearances and one goal.
In the AFL.com.au 'Fantasy Form Watch' for Round 11, Roy from The Traders (Rocky's biggest fan) wrote:
Despite already being one of only two players to hold the highly sought 'Fantasy Pig' title, it would be disrespectful not to reward Tom Rockliff for his effort upon return from injury. On last week's Traders Podcast we interviewed the Lions captain and asked for a prediction of what we can expect against the Blues, to which he boldly threw out 180. A figure like that would sound ridiculous from anyone else's mouth apart from the Pigs, Rocky and Dane Swan. Well after scoring 100 in the first half, Rockliff went on to score 184 from 48 touches, eight marks, nine tackles and a goal. One word … Oink.
In addition, Rockliff received 8 votes from the AFL Coaches Association for his performance on Saturday.
Every round, the AFL coaches vote for the best players from their game. The coaches vote for five payers, giving them a mark from 1-5. The maximum a player can score is 10 (with five votes from both coaches).
Good one Rocky!
