Mitch Robinson’s strong run of form over the past month has been recognised.
Robinson was named in this week’s AFL Player Ratings’ Team Of The Week for his 38-possession game against West Coast including 15 contested possessions, 10 clearances, 6 tackles and a goal.
He was also singled out on afl.com.au’s Access All Areas for his strong series of run-with roles against some of the competition’s in-form midfielders Matt Priddis, Lachie Neale, Bryce Gibbs and Sam Mitchell.
“Mitch Robinson in the past four weeks has been racking up a lot of numbers against some very good players – Priddis, Neale, Gibbs and Mitchell,” said journalist Damian Barrett of AAA.
Fromer Essendon champion-turned-commentator Matthew Lloyd agreed, who also lauded Robinson’s fellow Lions ball magnet Dayne Zorko.
“When you’re losing every week, you want to take some positives out of it and he had been a big positive because you know what you get every week with Mitch Robinson,” Lloyd said on AAA.
“He may cross the lines at times but I think he and Dayne Zorko are two players who get a big tick this year.”
Robinson was also named in the AFL's Team of the Week after they said he's been "one of the few Lions flying the flag at the moment" as well as picking up 8 AFL Coaches Association votes after the weekend's game v West Coast.
