A talented basketballer (his father is former NBA and NBL player, Andre Moore), Smith was recruited from Mt Gravatt, talent-spotted by the Lions' Academy and drafted by the Club at the end of 2013.
With only a handful of games to his name before being drafted, the ruckman has bided his time in the NEAFL under the tutelage of Stefan Martin, Matthew Leuenberger (now Essendon) and Trent West.
Fans were given a glimpse into Smith's development in this year’s NAB Challenge opener against Gold Coast at Burpengary. 12 months earlier he played at the same venue against St Kilda during the pre-season.
At 201cm tall, Smith is poised to enter senior calculations after an impressive season in the NEAFL.
