Total number of marks taken inside 50 for Port AdelaideNot only did Port Adelaide have 77 inside 50s, but they scored 62% of the time the ball went in there (AFL average is around 48%). Port took 30 marks inside 50, which is the most of any side this Season. Of the 30 marks inside 50, eight were contested and 22 were uncontested with Butcher and Westhoff both taking five each.

Differential in terms of skill efficiencyOur skill efficiency was poor compared to Port Adelaide (-4%), especially our handball numbers. We handballed at 79% efficiency compared to Port's 86%. We had more ineffective handballs, despite having 50 less handballs overall. | |
Archie SmithOur #44, Archie Smith, was extremely impressive on debut, leading the way with a match high of 30 hit-outs, along with 19 disposals and 17 contested possessions. Interestingly, both Ruckmen were the two highest clearance and contested possession winners on the ground. Trengrove had 15 clearances and 20 contested possessions, while Archie had nine clearances and 17 contested possessions. | |
Our Second Quarters...Twelve minutes into our second quarter the margin was only 11-points, but for the next 18 minutes of the quarter Port Adelaide kicked 6.2 (32) to our 2-points. This Season our second quarters have been our poorest quarter. We are on average -20-points per game in the second quarter. Furthermore, it is in 'Red Time,' which is from the 20 minute mark onwards, which accounts for almost half of that number (-9-points) |
