In this week's Throwback Thursday we're taking you back to Round 8, 2012 when Daniel 'The Big Sauce' Merrett kicked a bag in the first quarter against the GIANTS at the Gabba.
It was a 92-point thrashing of the GIANTS, and Lions' big men Jonathan Brown and Daniel Merrett took charge in the forward line, both kicking bags each. Brown finished the day with five goals, and 'The Big Sauce' finished with a career high of seven.
Along with seven goals, Merrett finished the game with 23 disposals and 12 marks.
Also named among our best that day was current Captain Tom Rockliff who finished with 36 disposals, and 3.4 goals.
Daniel Merrett will play his final game at the Gabba on Sunday against Geelong. Be there!
