Jed Adcock has said that his return to the Lions after a year in Melbourne feels like something of a homecoming.
Adcock, who played 206 games for the Lions, has returned to the Club as an assistant midfield coach and feels like he still has a lot to offer to the Lions’ young list.
The 30-year-old finished his career with the Western Bulldogs this season as a member of their VFL Premiership team.
“It feels like I’ve come home, after 12 years here and then a year away. It’s a really good feeling and I’m enjoying my time,” said Adcock.
“I felt like I set myself up the last couple of years of my playing career and even though I’m only 30 I felt it was the right time to move on (into a coaching role).
“It feels natural and it helps when you’ve already got a relationship with the Club, the players, the staff, the fans.”
“I guess being there (at the Bulldogs) for a year I’ll try to bring some ideas from there up here, but we’ve got to make sure we’ve got our own identity.
“The game in two or three years is going to change from what it was this year, we’ve got to make sure we’re staying on top of it and moving with the time but at the same time we’ve got to focus on the fundamentals and getting that right and then move from that.”
