Wet conditions didn't dampen the Lions' day as the Brisbane Lions AFL Women's team recorded a 16-point win in the Club's first official practice match against the GWS GIANTS.
In front of a crowd of around 1,000 people at Coorparoo, the Lions dominated play but failed to make it count on the scoreboard with early rain making conditions difficult at ground level.

The home team peppered the scoreboard leading by 6 points ahead of the final change.
They came home with a wet-sail, kicking three goals to the Giants' two to record their first win.
Goals to Jess Wuetschner, Sabrina Frederick-Traub and Brittany Gibson sealed the convincing 3.10 (28) to 2.0 (12) victory.
Sam Virgo was superb, particularly in the first half, while Kaitlyn Ashmore was a standout in wet conditions.
