The land on which the Gabba sits has been a gathering place for thousands of years. It was only fitting that the Brisbane Lions revealed their 2018 Sir Doug Nicholls Round guernsey on these grounds earlier today.

The colours Chambers used remain faithful to the original guernsey design. At the centre of the jumper is a large circle, representing a meeting place, which the Gabba has been for thousands of years.
Chambers said the design respects the traditional custodians of Brisbane, the Yuggera and Turrbal people.
“It also highlights the diversity of people coming together from the North, South, East and West to meet on these sacred grounds,” Chambers said.
“The markings around the outside of the artwork represent different Aboriginal nations who may journey to this area and represents the people from other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia who come to play on this ground."
