Jarryd Lyons landed in Brisbane prior to the 2019 season after initially being drafted to the Adelaide Crows in 2011 and then traded to the Gold Coast SUNS in 2017. When Lyons pulled on the Brisbane jumper he hit the ground running. The midfielder fitted seamlessly into the line-up and played a pivotal role in the Lions rise up the ladder. Despite only playing 10 games in 2023 with a squeeze at the selection table, Lyons showed incredible form at VFL level taking home the J.J Liston Trophy as the competition’s best player. With the current depth at the Chris Fagan’s disposal, Lyons will be pushing for a permanent role in the midfield for season 2024.
