A last-minute decision by the Adelaide Crows to relinquish their first two selections (Picks 20 and 54) at the 2012 NAB AFL National Draft has subsequently improved the Brisbane Lions’ drafting position.

The Lions’ second and third selections at Thursday’s draft meeting are now placed at Picks 23 and 32 respectively - while the Club’s prized Pick No.8 remains unchanged.

Although the move is not an overly significant one, it brings the Lions one step closer to securing their desired target.

The Crows officially withdrew their first and third round selections on Wednesday afternoon as a gesture of goodwill while the AFL continues its investigation into the Kurt Tippett matter.
