Stefan Martin (RUC, $406,000) appears to be back into the groove of things as the Brisbane Lions’ sole ruck man, after his second 100 point AFL Fantasy game in two weeks.
Martin’s scores dropped significantly after his 129 point game against Port Adelaide in Round 7, scoring an average of 64.8 for the following five games. For four of those five week’s Martin shared the Ruck role with Big Trent West, but since being made the single ruck man again, he’s scored 111 points (Round 13) and 105 (Round 14).
On the weekend, Martin finished the game with 23 disposals, 10 contested possessions, 21 hit outs, four clearances and one goal.
The only other player to score over 100 points on the weekend was the skipper, Tom Rockliff (MID, $574,000). He scored a total of 101 points for the game and continues his great run of form. Since his return from injury, he’s scored 184, 142, 135 and 101.
Rockliff finished the game with 30 disposals at a 70% disposal efficiency, seven clearances, and nine tackles.
Really impressive were some of our young guns. Rhys Mathieson (MID, $223,000), in just his third game, was our third highest scorer. He finished with a total of 96 AFL Fantasy points after a performance that saw him collect 24 touches, three marks, four clearances and seven tackles.
Young Eric Hipwood (DEF, FWD, $201,000) was also impressive after kicking three goals in just his second game. He finished the game with a solid 59 points, and looks like he has a strong future ahead of him.
Also worthy of a mention was Sam Mayes (DEF, $382,000). Mayes, who re-signed with the Club late last week, scored a total of 87 points. He was impressive with his 27 disposals (the second highest of his career), with a disposal efficiency of 80%. He gained a team high of 500 metres.
