The first full training session as Brisbane Lions has given teenage duo Tom Berry and Tom Joyce a story to tell for years to come.

On a hot and humid day at the Lions' Yeronga training base, the heat and intensity got the better of the pair, who were both physically ill.

Joyce, Pick No. 40 from Western Australia, was running laps with fellow draftees Ely Smith and Noah Answerth when late in the session he took a time-out to keel over a fence.

He bravely battled on to complete his session.

Berry was doing an upper body and bike circuit with Lions Academy product Connor McFadyen when he upended his morning's breakfast – but that wasn't the end of things for the younger brother of Brisbane's third-year midfielder Jarrod.

Four of the draftees fronted the media for the first time, and just over a minute into his press conference, junior Berry politely stepped aside and fell to the ground to continue vomiting.

Like his older brother, he was polite and engaging when answering the few questions he was asked beforehand.

"It's a lot different to Ballarat – there's bloody icebergs there at the moment," Berry laughed.

"It's very humid, I'm still getting used to it, but I love the hot weather so it's good.

"I always knew it was hot up here, but I've only ever visited Jarrod in the winter. Summer is next level."

Berry said it was a "dream come true" to train and play alongside his brother.
