This means the Club’s loyal Victorian fan base will get to watch their team play live twice in the space of three weeks during March - with the Lions also set to play their AFL season opener at Etihad Stadium on Saturday 30 March against the Western Bulldogs.
With the Lions set to celebrate the 10-Year Anniversary of their remarkable Three-Peat next year, it’s only fitting that the Club’s first official appearance in Melbourne will be against 2003 Grand Final opponents, Collingwood.
The confirmation of a pre-season match in Melbourne also allows the Club to begin planning its annual Victorian Family Day; with full details surrounding the popular event to be revealed early in 2013.
