Dakota Davidson will return to the Lions’ forward line for Sunday’s clash against West Coast.
Davidson missed both the Gold Coast and Melbourne match ups under AFL Concussion Protocol after taking a head knock back in Round 6 against St Kilda.
The absence of young forward Luka Yoshida-Martin (AFL Health & Safety Protocol) makes way for Davidson to resume her position in Senior Coach Craig Starcevich’s Best 21.
Key to the Lions’ forward line-up, Davidson will bolster the side’s efforts in front of goal as they look to continue their Premiership defence.
It comes as forwards Courtney Hodder and Taylor Smith hit their stride, with the pair both putting up some of their best football in the Lions’ two Round 7 matches.
Davidson’s selection in the side will carry extra importance for the 23-year-old, with Indigenous Round sitting close to the proud Gundmitjmarra woman’s heart.
The young talent designed the Club’s inaugural AFLW Indigenous guernsey, which was worn during their history-making Premiership win.
This year she has passed the honours onto teammate and proud Ghungalu woman, Ally Anderson, who has designed the 2022 Indigenous guernsey, telling the story of the Club’s AFLW journey.
The Lions’ will wear the 2022 Indigenous guernsey this weekend against West Coast, as well as the following weekend at home in Maroochydore against North Melbourne.
The Brisbane Lions will play West Coast at Mineral Resources Park (WA) on Sunday February 27 at 2:10PM local (4:10 AEST). You can catch all the action live on Kayo, Fox, and womens.afl.
