After only just sneaking into the private league’s top eight in the final round, McGrath was pitted against Sherman’s side who finished just outside the top four on percentage.
But it was McGrath’s team that prevailed - with 2,026 points to Sherman’s 2,008 points - and lived to fight another day.
The 27 year-old was also justified in being the only actual Lions player participating in the Dream Team competition to select himself.
‘Boonj’s Bandits’ reaped the rewards as McGrath scored 95 points - the sixth highest total of any Lions player against the Eagles.
Michael Rischitelli was the team’s highest scorer for the Round with 116 points which gave him even more breathing room at the top of the overall leaderboard.
Luke Power and Jack Redden, however, seem to be in an absorbing battle for the final two placings.
In the Club’s Dream Team Group, ‘Cloke’n’mirrors’ looks tough to beat with only three rounds remaining. CheyneB Brooke’s team edged almost 300 points further ahead to claim a near unassailable lead.
Congratulations also to ‘Inubex2’ coached by Nick Atkins whose round total of 2,326 was the highest of all 1,200 registered Dream Teams in the Lions’ Group.
