Dan McStay and Marcus Adams will be welcome returns for the Brisbane Lions ahead of a crucial clash with GWS on Saturday afternoon.

McStay was initially expected to be out for 3-4 weeks with ligament damage in his left ankle, however after a strong week on the track he will return ahead of schedule.

The 26-year-old will get his first opportunity of the season to play alongside Eric Hipwood as the Lions forward line looks closer to returning to full strength.

Down back, Marcus Adams will return from AFL Health & Safety Protocols, bolstering a Brisbane defence eager to bounce back from a tough outing against the Hawks last week.

Hugh McCluggage will miss the Round 11 clash after failing to overcome a hamstring injury, making way for Deven Robertson to play his first AFL game of 2022.

The tough, young midfielder has been impressive in the VFL, including a stand-out performance against Sydney at the SCG where he kicked 2 goals from 24 disposals while laying 9 tackles.

Tom Fullarton and Jack Payne have been omitted, with the latter being named alongside Mitch Robinson, Tom Berry and Rhys Mathieson as an emergency.
