JACK REDDEN will miss the remaining two rounds of 2015 following groin surgery.
Redden had been managing the injury during the season but was flown to Sydney to see Specialist John Garvey and was operated on today.
“Jack went in for surgery today with Doctor Garvey”, Physical Performance Coordinator, Matt Hass, told the Bupa Recovery Report.
“By all reports everything went well and Jack will kick off his rehab.
“It’s a fairly lengthy rehab process but he should be right to join in early on in preseason and complete most of that and will definitely be ready for round one.”
Meanwhile, the Lions should regain Daniel Rich (glute), who missed last weekend’s loss to Adelaide, along with defender Justin Clarke (jaw).
“There will be a few boys returning, obviously Dan Rich hurt himself in the main training session last week and missed the game.
“It will be a light fitness test but we expect him to be back.”
Clarke fractured his jaw in the round 19 loss to the Gold Coast Suns at The Gabba.
“Jase has been three weeks (out) so getting through main training he should play this weekend.
“To have him back for the Hawthorn match will be a nice addition.”
