It’s a top of the table showdown at the Moreton Bay Sporting Complex on Saturday, with the second-placed Brisbane Lions VFL set to be tested against an undefeated Casey Demons. 

Coming off a confidence-boosting 25-point win against the Sandringham Dragons, the Brisbane Lions will be hoping to finish their home and away season on a high ahead of the Smithy’s VFL Finals Series next week. 

Defeating Casey will be no small order, with the ladder-leaders yet to drop a game this season. The closest any opposition team has come to victory over the Demons was back in Round 2 where Essendon came within three points of Casey. 

With a home Qualifying Final on the line, the Lions will need to put their best football on show against one of the competition’s toughest opponents. 

Blake Coleman (concussion) and Will Ashcroft (returning to NAB League) make way for electric livewire Mitch Robinson and versatile defender Connor McFadyen to return to VFL Coach Mitch Hahn’s Best 22.   

While Darryl McDowell-White, son of Brisbane triple-Premiership legend Darryl White, will run out in the maroon, blue and gold again this week after making his debut for the side in an encouraging performance against Sandringham. 

Brisbane fans are encouraged to head down to the Moreton Bay Sporting Complex and get behind in the VFL side in their final home and away game of the season.
