Brown was superb as he took 16 marks and kicked 4.6 in a result that further increased the pressure on Essendon coach Matthew Knights.
The 28-year-old missed round 20 with a groin problem, meaning he missed the opportunity to play the milestone game at the Gabba.
But after the game, Brown was more intent on talking about the side's win rather than his person achievement.
"Obviously you want to have a good day and hope the team wins, to get a good memory, I suppose - I certainly didn't want to play like a busted arse," he said.
"We had plenty of supply in the first half and a lot of one-on-one contests. I thought we put in a polished performance really.
"I think the last four or five weeks have been really encouraging - we haven't put the white flag up."
Brown said the win was encouraging at the end of a long season which saw the club cruelled by injuries to key players.
"We're trying to build some confidence into the off-season, I suppose," he said.
''We've got a long spell coming up. I'm sure the boys will be able to get themselves up.
"We've played some good footy over the last few weeks so the boys will be keen to finish off well.''
Pushed on talking about his feelings about the celebration, he admitted it was good to share it with his new daughter.
"It was a very special day as I got to carry the little girl out through the banner.
"I'll remember it and I love playing down here. I'm a Victorian boy so it was great to see all the supporters here. Funnily enough I've played all my milestone games in Melbourne."
