Brisbane Lions Head Coach Craig Starcevich has named an unchanged side to face Melbourne in Sunday’s NAB AFLW Grand Final.
Kate Lutkins has been named in her 50th AFLW match on Sunday, following an impressive return to the elite level earlier this season from the 34-year-old.
The milestone moment puts an exclamation mark on an astonishing year for the veteran defender, that saw her recover from an ACL injury sustained in January to return to Starcevich’s Best 21 in Round 6 against Essendon and become a core member of the Lions’ defensive unit once again.
Four Lions have been named in their first AFLW Grand Final team; Phoebe Monahan, Dee Heslop, Ruby Svarc and Mikayla Pauga, with the remaining 17 players all having been present in the 2021 AFLW Grand Final side that saw the Lions secure their maiden Premiership.
While tickets to Sunday’s clash are sold out, fans are encouraged to tune to Channel 7 from 12:30 to catch all the action live and free.
