The Brisbane Lions will face the best test in football before the season starts, given practice match fixtures against reigning Grand Finalists Sydney and Geelong.

The AFL today revealed their pre-season fixture, which includes one match simulation and one official pre-season match.

Following a jam-packed off-season trade and draft period, Brisbane fans will be eager to see the impact of new recruits, Josh Dunkley, Jack Gunston and Conor McKenna against quality opposition following their teams defeat to Geelong in last years Preliminary Final.

Dunkley impressed in Brisbane's recent match sim, kicking two goals and collecting plenty of the footy, while draftee Will Ashcroft and second-year midfielder, Jimmy Tunstill also continued to impress.

The Lions will take on the Swans at Tramway Park in Sydney on Friday 24 February before opening the gates of their brand new Brighton Homes Arena facility to host Geelong.
