emza: Hey Brent! How are you feeling?

Brent Staker: Hey emza, I’m feeling great. I have just finished a 30km bike ride this morning so I’m a little tired.

Di: Where are you at with your knee?

Brent Staker: Hey Di, yes it’s a long road ahead for me. My knee is feeling really weel, but just not allowed to run until May or June next year.

james: Hey Stakes, are you keeping an eye on the Test match?

Brent Staker: Haha, yes James. It’s happening right outside our change rooms. I’ve just seen that last wicket.

Daniel: What do you reckon of the new recruits? Have you had a chance to meet them?

Brent Staker: Hey Daniel, yeah have met them all. Billy Longer is a big strapping young lad. They are pretty raw, so give them a few years in the gym and they will be better.

james: Is there a recruit either via the Draft or Trade Week that has trained the house down?

Brent Staker: James, draftees have only just rocked up, so none of them (have really started) yet. But for mine, I’ve noticed Zorko and Hudson training extremely well.

Emi: Another obviously important issue... love the haircut! Any reason to why you cut off the much talked about locks??

Brent Staker: EMI! Haha, just because Brissie is SO HOT. So it was time. Good question.

Steve: This is probably a strange question, but do you notice many differences between the Lions as a Club and the Eagles? I reckon you have played your best footy with us, and I wondered if you thought the same and if you had a theory as to why? Sorry for the long-winded question.

Brent Staker: Steve, that’s cool mate. No real differences. All footy clubs seem to be the same on the inside. I’m loving being here and I think the fresh start helped me with my footy. A change can only be a good thing sometimes.

Mike: Hi Stakes. Without Mitch Clark or yourself in the forward line this year, which big blokes do you expect to fill the void?

Brent Staker: Mike, my room-mate Patty Karnezis will be good, and this is a perfect time for Aaron Cornelius to step up. Retzlaff is a smoky.

Bato: Hey Stakes! What would be your number one goal in 2012?

Brent Staker: Bato, tough question. But off the top of my head it would be that I just want to be fit for the start of the next pre-season. Boring answer, sorry.

Steve: Thanks Stakes, best of luck with the reco. I hope you've got a ton more great games to come.

Amanda: You've been on Twitter for a while, and I've noticed a lot of other players now jumping on. Any chance you could convince a few more to join? Maybe the Captain or Todd Banfield?

Brent Staker: Amanda, you clearly have a soft spot for them. I’ll be sure to encourage them to get on the Twitter bandwagon.

morgan: My question is what were the reactions from the boys when Jamie Charman and Luke Power left?

Brent Staker: They have been great servants for the Lions and have left a legacy. What more could we want.

Glen: Will you be taking on a role in the coaches box during games in the upcoming season?

Brent Staker: Glen, yes I’m hoping to be involved more with the Reserves team. Coaching is something I’m interested in, so will see. On match-days I’ll be out meeting sponsors and the like.

Holly: You are my favourite Lions player! But I think you should grow your hair again!

Brent Staker: Holly, by the time I start back in 2013, it will be long again.

Rysc: Hey stakes, nothing to do with footy, but who’s your favourite Mario Kart player?

Brent Staker: Rysc, I’m a Donkey Kong fan and on a motorbike. Wins everytime. Gotta love those red shells.

morgan: Do you and the other players go to the Springwood Lions club often?

Brent Staker: Morgan, I don’t get there as much as I would like. But we do plenty of appearances from there. It’s a fabulous set up.

Di: Was also wondering if everyone showed up clean shaven today now Movember is over?

Brent Staker: Di, yep. Seems the boys all bought razors last night and then got to work this morning.

Mike: Who's the funniest bloke at the Club?

Brent Staker: Jamie Charman was, but now for mine its little Josh Green.

morgan: The family and I have been wondering when the boys would be doing another Family Day like they did at the start of the year?

Brent Staker: morgan, not sure yet. But no doubt supporters will all be informed when we have one. Yes they are great.

Dom: Is Patty Karnezis homesick at all? I keep hearing his mum wants him back. I'm hoping he stays at the Club his whole career though, obviously.

Brent Staker: Dom, nah mate he is sweet. Yep he is a mummy’s boy, but he has changed a lot. Can’t wait to watch him run amuck this season.

Emily: Has Browny shaved his grizzly beard yet?

Brent Staker: Emily, he is due in next Monday so will see then? I bet his wife hopes he shaves it off.

Akhil: Hey Stakes, how's the knee going? Which recruit are you most looking forward to watching?

Brent Staker: Akhil, knee is great but won’t run till next year. Which recruit do I like? Yeo.

james: Stakes, during your WCE years, via your observations was there a particular Lions player you couldn’t wait to be on the field with?

Brent Staker: James, Simon Black without a doubt. He is a jet and I’ve looked up to him for years and still do.

Dom: Any idea what type of player we'll aim to grab in the Rookie Draft?

Brent Staker: Dom, great question. I’ve got no, but I would like to see a pacy midfielder.

holly: Where are you spending Christmas?

Brent Staker: Holly, I’ll spend Christmas in Broken Hill with my family. It’s miles away.

morgan: How does it feel to have most of the female supporters loving you?

Brent Staker: Morgan, do they??? Haha, I’ll take that. They all seem to hide if you ask me.

Sam: How's the big redhead that holds down full-back coming along? He was a huge loss for the Club last year when he was in career best form. So I’m hoping he'll be back to his best at the start of Round 1.

Brent Staker: Sam, yes he was in All Australian form. He is on track and looking great. No doubt he will do great this year.

Dale Mann: Hey Stakes, do you feel that you will come back at 100% in 2013?

Brent Staker: Dale, I feel if I do everything right, then I have no reason to not be 100%.

Emi: Is there anyone who is quiet, or even a quiet achiever, around the Club?

Brent Staker: Emi, the two Irish boys are quiet achievers.

Lea: Hey Brent, what do you think your role will be in 2012 and who do you see to be the most improved?

Brent Staker: Lea, most improved will be Ryan Harwood.

morgan: What have you always wanted under your Christmas tree when you were younger?

Brent Staker: Morgan, I always wanted a petrol remote control car. I bought one last week! Xmas is here!

Dale Mann: Stakes, not to relive old memories, but do you SERIOUSLY hate Barry Hall for that ‘love’ tap? Were you ‘aware’ of him from that point on? (Do you hate people asking you that question?)

Brent Staker: Dale, nah I don’t hate him at all. That’s footy. It’s in the past and I’m sure he and I will have a beer one day. Yes, at the time it didn’t look good, but we have all moved on. As for the question, I’m used to it now.

Sorry guys, but that’s it from me today. Thanks for all the questions. I’m sure I’ll be on here again in future so see you all again then.

GO THE LIONS IN 2012

Thanks for the great support. Keep it up.

Cheers,

Stakes
