Former St Kilda defender, Darragh Joyce will get his first run in the new colours on Thursday night as the Brisbane Lions lock in their practice match squad.
The 25-year-old joined Brisbane during the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (SSP) and has impressed on track with his physicality and voice in the backline.
Joyce will join fellow Irishmen, Conor McKenna and James Madden in Brisbane's squad of 26, the first time the Brisbane Lions have ever featured three Irishmen in their lineup.
Thursday nights clash will be the first time Co-Captains Harris Andrews and Lachie Neale will lead the team out, with the duo being revealed as Brisbane's leaders earlier today.
Will Ashcroft has been named on a wing, alongside Deven Robertson for Thursday nights clash, while youngsters Jaxon Prior, Harry Sharp and Jimmy Tunstill have been named on the bench.
Brisbane will take on Geelong at Brighton Homes Arena at 7:10pm Thursday 2nd March. The game is sold out but is available to watch on Kayo and Foxtel.
