LAST TIME THEY MET
The Brisbane Lions met Carlton under a closed roof at Etihad Stadium in Round 20, 2012.

The first quarter was a low scoring affair with both sides kicking only two goals each. The Lions took a narrow four-point lead into the first break, but were left to rue several missed scoring opportunities in the second quarter. The Blues however, capitalized on their opportunities and took a seven-point lead into the main break.

After half-time it was all Carlton, with the Blues booting seven goals to one in the third quarter.

The Lions salvaged a minor victory, outscoring the Blues in the final term, but it was a case of too little too late for Brisbane.

Jack Redden, Tom Rockliff and Pearce Hanley all fought hard for the Lions but it was Carrazzo, Gibbs and Murphy who drove the Blues to a 36-point victory.

Brownlow Medal Votes: 3. B Gibbs (CARL), 2. K Simpson (CARL), 1. H Scotland (CARL).
