Craig Lambert knows what it takes to reach the ultimate success and is confident that the Lions’ next generation are building a bright future for the Club on and off the field.

The 47-year-old served as an assistant coach under Leigh Matthews during the Premiership years and has returned to the Club as Strategy and Retention Manager.

“Sometimes when you go to a winning environment it covers up a few cracks in that organisation.

“Welfare has become such an important component for all clubs but more importantly interstate clubs,” Lambert told SEN.

“The environment to me is critical that as soon as they get into our Football Club the player feels like ‘I’m getting supported here’ and that’s how they should feel.

“If they need to get picked up at 11pm at night, they’ve got a flat tyre – all those little details are so critical as a Football Club.

“I think if you can get that right it definitely minimises the risk of the ‘go home factor.’”
