Everything is better when done together, and in March, the Brisbane Lions through Lions Legacy and Outside the Locker Room is set on bringing mates together.
Lions Legacy and OTLR are proud to invite you to our first Mates in March event and help us as we embark on ‘Changing the game in mental health’. On average, we lose 9 people to suicide in Australia every day and Lions Legacy and our Mental Health partner, Outside the Locker Room is determined to continue to make change.
OTLR CEO, Todd Morgan said and event like this will not only bring people together but fundraise to enable greater delivery of programs.
“Since 2015, OTLR has been changing the game for mental health in sport by delivering mental wellbeing education and welfare support programs for local communities across Australia, in sporting clubs, schools and businesses.
Our partnership with the Lions continues to go from strength to strength and we are really excited to be able to get this event off the ground”.
James Dowling, Brisbane Lions Community Manager, said being able to bring mates together and discuss a range of topics as well as join some Lions players is a great collective initiative.
“Sport is a great connector across the community and having this event creates a start point for conversations which is invaluable to feeling comfortable to be able to talk to a mate about how you are feeling.”
Be a MATE IN MARCH, this March and take part in conversation with Archie Smith, Outside the Locker Room’s Queensland Manager, Kyle McHardy, watch an AFL Training session and then be a part of a meet and greet on field and kick a goal with a Brisbane Lion!
