The Brisbane Lions are casting the net far and wide to try and find details for as many former past players as possible.

Although the Club boasts an extensive database of past players’ contact details, there are still plenty of ‘holes’ from the old Fitzroy days.

The Lions will soon approach all past players and officials with details of the official Club reunion functions for 2014 – which are hosted twice annually at football matches in Melbourne and Brisbane.

These events are FREE for all past players, and provide an opportunity for them to catch-up with former teammates in a relaxed environment.

However, invites will obviously only go out to those whose details are currently up-to-date with the Club.

So if you’re a past player (from either Fitzroy, the Bears, or the Brisbane Lions) and DON’T already receive the Club’s updates, then please email your details through to slord@lions.com.au

Fitzroy FC, who compete in the Premier B Division of the VAFA, is also planning a reunion of all players who represented the Fitzroy Thirds and/or U19s at the Brunswick Street Oval up until 1966.

The reunion will be held on Saturday 24 May 2014 at Fitzroy’s spiritual home, the Brunswick Street Oval, in conjunction with a pre-game luncheon before Fitzroy FC’s clash against Ajax.

The function will help re-live some of the old memories of Fitzroy – before the Club moved its home base to Princes Park, the Junction Oval, Victoria Park and then the Western Oval.

The Roys’ greatest Under 19’s player and Lions Legend, Kevin Murray, has already confirmed his attendance at the nostalgic trip down memory lane.

For further details on the U19s reunion at Brunswick Street Oval, please contact either Colin Hobbs (0419 532 505 or colin@qats.com.au) or Danny Wilson (0401 711 675 or dwcarlton@iprimus.com.au) – who were Fitzroy’s U19s Captain and Vice-Captain respectively in 1965.
