The Brisbane Lions expect Co-Captain Lachie Neale to play against North Melbourne this week, while defender Tom Doedee will have surgery on Wednesday.
Neale, who rolled his ankle against Collingwood on Easter Thursday, had scans on Saturday which cleared him of any major injury.
As teammates took to the track for a light session on Monday, the midfielder completed a gym session to keep him off his ankle to assist his recovery and swelling.
Doedee will undergo surgery on his knee on Wednesday after he sustained a partial tear of his ACL at training last week.
Fellow defender Darcy Gardiner will also be available for AFL selection this week after playing in the Lions VFL win over Collingwood on Good Friday.
Gardiner played out the full match showing he has overcome his knee injury which occurred in Brisbane’s Round 1 clash with Fremantle.
Forward Brandon Ryan missed the opening two matches of the VFL season after injuring his toe at training.
The Club is confident he will be available for selection next week after the bye.
