Ah, it’s good to be home.
Two weeks on the road, coming back with two wins in our carry-on baggage, things feel like we have our mojo back.
Now our biggest test to date, the claws are out for a good old fashion cat fight. So get ready Lions fans, this is going to be a proper scrap as we look to put the cat back in the bag and roar into this week’s match preview.
Last Time We Met
Last time: Brisbane Lions 9.10 (64) d Geelong 7.11 (53), Round 19, 2023
It was a low-scoring thriller at the Gabba last time we met the Cats. After leading by 37 points in the third term in front of a sold-out home crowd, a fast-finishing Geelong may have left some Lions fans sweating underneath the collar.
Callum Ah Chee played like a man on a mission, hurling himself into contests, applying vigorous defensive pressure, in what was a career-best performance coming away with 23 disposals and clutch last quarter goal.
Josh Dunkley was another who proved crucial when the game got close, racking up 27 disposals, eight tackles and seven clearances to help our boys come up clutch and hold on to a 11-point victory.

Excited About
Back at the GABBA!
As they say, there is no place like home and after two weeks on the road we can’t wait to entertain Lions members and fans at a packed out Gabba.
The Cats are unbeaten so far in 2024 but like we said earlier our boys have their mojo back and are ready to reclaim our fortress.
It’s going to be a tough contest no doubt, but we know Lions fans will bring the noise and their best rendition of Country Roads to help get behind the boys as they fight for victory.
Match-ups we're keen for
Joe Daniher vs Jeremy Cameron
Although they might not line up side by side, the battle of the tall timber in Joe Daniher vs Jeremy Cameron is going to be a mouth-watering one.
While the pundits might not be raving about it, both men’s numbers in season 2024 are equally impressive and rate elite in the competition. Daniher has averaged 15.4 disposals, 7.8 marks, and 2.4 goals leading the way up forward for the Lions. Meanwhile Cameron, arguably the talk of the footy world right now, has averaged 18.6 disposals, 7.6 marks and 2.8 goals.
The ability of both men to get up the ground, impact contest and finish off their work in front of the big sticks will very well help decide who takes the four points home on Saturday night. But in our return home, we back our big man Joey to light up the Gabba to help reclaim our patch.
