BRISBANE Lions coach Michael Voss is preparing for changes next season amidst speculation four assistant coaches are planning to leave the club.

A newspaper reported on Wednesday that Justin Leppitsch, Craig and Wayne Brittain and Chris Johnson were considering leaving.

When asked about the report, Voss said teams always renewed personnel from year to year.

"You’re going to have changes, whether it’s assistant coaches or otherwise you’re going to have changes," Voss said.

"The unfortunate thing when you come to the end of every season is that this group will not be together again, that’s just a fact of life."

"This group of 45 players will not ever be together ever again so that’s special in its own unique way."

If all four assistants departed, it would leave just Craig Lambert and Adrian Fletcher, who also recently declared his intentions to become a senior coach at another club.

"There’s a time in your life when you’ve got to start putting your name out there to make sure that people understand where you want to go in life," Fletcher told afl.com.au on August 5.

Voss said sweeping changes may not be that unsettling to the club.

"Sometimes when it has such a finality like that it can be quite confronting for some," Voss said.

"We are part of the system, so whether they choose to stay or go is at this point in time perhaps a little irrelevant."

Voss will have the opportunity to craft his own hand-picked coaching group if the departures all eventuate.

But he said next year was not on his mind, with a home final on the line against the Swans at the SCG on Saturday night.

"I’m talking about how we’re going to win against Sydney on Saturday," Voss said.
