The Brisbane Lions VFL side moved to second on the ladder following their 46-point win over Casey on Saturday afternoon in Round 15 action.

Despite trailing at the first break, the Lions flexed their muscles and booted 14 goals in the next three quarters to run out 18.15 (123) to 11.11 (77) winners.

Jarryd Lyons and Deven Robertson continued their prolific VFL form with 32 and 35 disposals respectively helping the Lions dominant the midfield battle.

Lyons was again the star, kicking two goals to go along with his five clearances, seven tackles and four marks in an all-round performance.

Not to be outdone, Robertson had six clearances of his own as well as eight tackles and a goal as both players fought for best on ground honors.

For the second week running, the Lions were slow out the blocks with Casey booting the opening two majors before goals to Henry Smith and Harry Sharp steadied the ship.

Casey booted another three in the term to hold a 10-point lead at quarter times as Zac Derkson and Ewan Macpherson kept the Lions within striking distance.

Smith was a standout for the Lions in the ruck with 21 hitouts and five clearances while also hitting the scoreboard booting three goals of his own, combining well with Darcy Fort to dominant the ruck battle.

A blistering second term saw Lyons kick his first goal in 25 seconds as an onslaught ensued with the Lions hammering six majors to one.

Smith’s second and third bookended the quarter as Darcy Craven, Brandon Ryan and VFL debutant and Academy product, Wyat Greenaway hit the scoreboard.

Leading by 24 points at half-time, it was the Lions defence which was on show limited the Demons scoring opportunities.

Jaxon Prior continued his good form as he put his hand up for senior selection with 25 touches and 10 marks.

Prior paired well with dashing half-back Jimmy Madden who also had 20 possessions and seven marks.

A five-goal quarter pushed the Lions advantage as Jack Manly opened the Lions account after the main break as Kyle Dunkley kicked back-to-back goals while Derksen nailed his second.

Holding a 48-point advantage at the final break, the Lions booted three goals to four in the last term, kicking six behinds to lead them to their seventh straight win and their sixth consecutive game over 100 points.

The Lions now have a bye in Round 16 and will return to Brighton Homes Arena in Round 17 to take on Sydney as they continue their charge toward VFL finals.
