The first episode of the Brisbane Lions, new AFLW docuseries, Against All Odds, capturing the journey of last season’s premiership triumph, will air Tuesday July 16 on Lions.com.au, 7Plus and AFL.com.au.

The four-part docuseries, produced by the Lions, starts with the Lions squad being written off as a serious contender for the 2023 season following a recruitment raid on its playing roster by rival clubs.

After losing key players the Lions embraced their new underdog status, introduced new players to the squad and built an all in culture to overcome every hurdle and roadblock imaginable in the quest to contend for a second AFLW Premiership.

Following on from the heartbreak of losing the 2022 AFLW Grand Final by four points at their new home ground, the Lions are faced with change, losing three All-Australian players during a tumultuous off-season before pre-season even begins.

Across four riveting episodes, this docuseries will follow the journey of a number of the Lions premiership heroes through the ups and downs of a rollercoaster 2023 season, navigating new roles both on and off-field.

From the triumphant return of Lily Postlethwaite from an ACL, Dakota Davidson overcoming a knee injury to kick two crucial grand final goals, to the heroics of captain Bre Koenen’s best on ground Grand Final performance, to the trials and tribulations of balancing life as a professional athlete are some of the many stories that will captivate fans.

A year filled with big wins, heartbreaking losses and enough drama to fill out an episode of Home and Away, Against All Odds provides Lions members and fans with a behind the scenes view into what it takes to win the ultimate AFLW glory.
