Brisbane Lions duo Orla O’Dwyer and Shanae Davison are a step closer to an AFLW return with both named in the squad to face Geelong this Sunday.
Season six All-Australian, O’Dwyer has recovered from a shoulder injured sustained against Adelaide in Week 5 while Davison, who played match scrimmage in Week 7 has put herself in the frame for selection against the Cats.
After injuring her wrist in Week 1, Davison returns to Lions AFLW senior coach Craig Starcevich’s side, with draftee Sophie Peters making way.
Foundation duo Shannon Campbell and Kate Lutkins have both been named on an extended bench alongside Eleanor Hartill, Davison, O’Dwyer, Ellie Hampson, Evie Long and Luka Yoshida-Martin.
Sunday afternoon’s Week 8 clash against Geelong, is scheduled for 1:05pm local time at GMHBA Stadium, with the match broadcast live on 7Mate, Fox Footy and Kayo.
