The illustrious career of Dayne Zorko will continue for a 14th season, with the Brisbane Lions champion signing a new one-year deal.

Zorko’s latest contract will see him remain at the Club until at least the end of the 2025 season, where he will add to his 272 games.

The 35-year-old has been rewarded for his impressive form this year, with the veteran being one of the Lions best and most consistent.

Playing a brilliant role off half-back for Brisbane has seen the 2017 All-Australian put up his hand for another blazer.

Despite having a resume many would envy, including five Merrett-Murray Medals – the former Lions captain wants team success.

“I am extremely grateful the club has allowed me to continue my journey beyond this year,” Zorko said.

“I love this journey we have been on and love being at this football club, so to be staying on for another season is fantastic.

“There’s no ceiling with this playing group and each year we are getting stronger and closer to the pinnacle, and I want to be a part of that.”

Zorko has starred down back for Brisbane this season, racking up 25 or more disposals 15 times - including a career-high 40 against Gold Coast.

Despite the fact the two-time club leading goalkicker will be 36 at the start of next season, the club is confident he still has plenty to offer.

Brisbane Lions General Manager of Football, Danny Daly said Zorko continues to get the best out of himself.

“Dayne has had a brilliant year and he more than deserves this contract to go around for his 14th season which is a huge achievement,” he said.

“He is showing age is no barrier and is a great example that if you put in the work and look after yourself that you can achieve anything.

“We look forward to having Zorks runout again for the Lions next season and to have his wife Talia and his kids around the Club for another year.”

Zorko has played 272 games and kicked 231 goals since making his debut in 2012.

He arrived at Brisbane after coming through with AFL Queensland talent pathway with Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.
