Brisbane Lions premiership forward Callum Ah Chee said he was looking forward to this week’s Intra Club game as the Lions ramp preparations for their Opening Round Clash against Geelong.

As the Lions close in on their premiership defence which kicks off at the Gabba on Thursday March 6, Ah Chee said he, along with the rest of the team were ready to begin match simulations and match practices over the next few weeks.

“Yeah, it's exciting with, games coming around pretty quickly, so we are looking forward to the first Intra Club on Friday,” Ah Chee said.

“The group is really looking forward to some gameplay, Charlie and I have the All Stars next week, so it will be good preparation as well.”

Following a season which unearthed a new wave of young talent amongst the Lions ranks, competition for spots will be hotly contested leading into this Friday’s Intra club and over the next few weeks.

“We got a lot of depth in the team this year, so I don't think anyone can be comfortable where they're at, but that's a great thing for the team.

“So, we are looking forward to this Friday, and getting into the first hit out.”

The Lions will hold their first Intra-Club for 2025 this Friday at Brighton Homes Arena from 4:20pm.
