The Brisbane Lions are mourning the loss of former Fitzroy player Kevin Darrigan who passed away on Sunday 29 September – the day after the Lions’ 2024 AFL premiership triumph – aged 92.

After spending his first two VFL seasons with Collingwood, Darrigan transferred to Fitzroy where he played a further 34 senior matches and kicked 6 goals from 1953-56.

He was the 688th player to represent Fitzroy in a senior VFL match and wore the number 28 guernsey throughout his time at the Club.

The Club extends its sincerest condolences to the entire Darrigan family at this difficult time.
