BRISBANE LIONS Elite Performance Manager Brett Burton says despite weekend injury concerns to Mitch Robinson and Josh Green both players should be ready to go for the Lions’ next pre-season clash against the Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium in a fortnight’s time.

“The boys pulled up really well. It was obviously a tough game against Sydney - they always play a contested style of footy - but it was only a short trip so we were back (in Brisbane) on the Saturday morning and they had the weekend off.

“Mitch is fine; he got a corky in the same leg a couple of times and tried to push on with it, but with the NAB Challenge we don’t take too many risks. He’ll be fine to train on Thursday”.

Green is still sporting a purple eye from an errant elbow copped late in Friday night’s game, with a pic post on Twitter by teammate and fellow Tasmania Mitch Robinson.

He kicked three goals in an impressive display.

“I think it might be his first black eye. He’s not normally in and under, he’s usually just getting the handball receives and snapping goals”, Burton said.

"It was good by Greeny, he played really well. He’ll pull up fine and be ready to go in a couple of weeks time."

The players will have a shorter week courtesy of the bye in the lead up to the Club's match against the SUNS on March 20.

“They’ll be given a session over the weekend, but it will be pretty light”, Burton said.
