Thomas Berry: 185cm, 76kg, 01/05/2000
- Greater Western Victoria Rebels junior
- Midfielder/small defender
- Competitive and strong tackler with pace
- Brother of Lions midfielder Jarrod Berry
Steve Conole, Recruiting Manager, says:
“Thomas has got a lot of attributes similar to his brother: fantastic work ethic, really competitive, great team player and athletic."
“Had quite a few injuries in his draft year so struggled with continuity. Can play a variety of roles.”
The Brisbane Lions welcome Greater Western Victoria Rebel’s Thomas Berry with Pick No. 36 at the 2018 NAB AFL Draft.
Berry will join his older brother Jarrod, who was recruited in the 2016 Draft, as he travels north to join the Lions.
Similar to his brother, Thomas is a competitive beast, team player and strong tackler.
His attack on the ball and defensive spoiling was top notch during the season for the GWV Rebels.
He is considered a midfielder or small defender with impressive pace.
Injuries disrupted his draft year but he showed enough potential for the Lions not to hesitate in selecting him with their second selection in the draft.
The Lions now have two sets of brothers at the Club, after Jarryd Lyons recently joined his brother Corey.
