Since making her Brisbane Lions AFLW debut in Round 2 against the Western Bulldogs, Nat Exon has stood out. Not just because of her skills, speed and strength, but also because she rocks an old-school mullet.

The mullet has taken the footy world by storm.
2016 Brownlow Medallist Patrick Dangerfield tweeted his admiration recently.
Multiple Facebook pages have been created. At the Lions' match against the Melbourne Demons at Casey, fans brought huge cut-outs of the mullet.

Exon has enjoyed the stir her mullet has created but the real reasoning behind her choice of
“It’s something simple I can do to make a massive difference for patients and families,” she said.
In Victoria, she coaches athletics and recently discovered a former athlete she coached had battled with the disease.

Soon, she will shave it all off and admits she is nervous.
“Definitely. I mean I guess it can’t be worse than the mullet,” she said.
“I’m a bit nervous but I sort of figure I can wear a hat.
“A few of my friends reckon it will look good and I’m just focusing on that.”
Exon says her Lions AFLW teammates have been so supportive of her cause.
When she moved here in November last year she knew only one other person in Queensland – her former Carlton teammate Bella Ayre.
The pair had been traded to Brisbane after the inaugural AFLW season.
“It was pretty tough. I’ve settled in now, but I guess the first couple of months was a bit strange,” she said.
