Update on Chris Fagan's hamstring injury following surgery.
Chris Fagan is recovering well from hamstring surgery and expects to lead the Brisbane Lions from the coaches' box on Saturday.
Fagan ripped the hamstring tendon off the bone in a mishap at last week’s 'Big Freeze 4' event for MND research and initially thought his lack of mobility might force him to coach from the boundary line.
However, after surgery last week he is moving well and confident he can watch from the coaches' box and make the journey up and down the stairs during quarter breaks.
Brisbane host Greater Western Sydney at the Gabba on Saturday.
Fagan had surgery under renowned specialist Professor Julian Feller and responded well.
He was walking the next day, does not need crutches and walked up to 7km on each day over the weekend.
Professor Feller is well known in AFL circles, having performed hamstring surgeries on the likes of Nick Riewoldt, Matthew Lloyd, Nick Dal Santo and Josh Gibson.
Fagan is expected to take 10-12 weeks to fully recover.
