Brisbane Lions utility Marco Paparone will be sidelined for the remainder of the pre-season after undergoing surgery yesterday.
Whilst being able to train throughout the pre-season, the Lions’ medical team deemed surgery was the best approach to relieve pressure around scar tissue on his sciatic nerve.
“Marco has been training really well this pre-season, but after consultation with the medical staff we believe that for him to be at his best, we should do the surgery now,” General Manager of Football David Noble said.
“He is already up and about after surgery, and we expect him to miss approximately eight to ten weeks.”
