In this week's ‘Throwback Thursday’, we take a look back at the career of Club great, Simon Black.
Without doubt one of the greatest players to don the Brisbane Lions jumper, Black almost achieved every individual honour in the game.
Black was taken by Brisbane as the 31st pick in the 1997 draft and played 322 games for the Lions - a Club record.
He was a pivotal member of the Lions' amazing midfield, alongside fellow Brownlow medallists Michael Voss and Jason Akermanis, that took the club to three consecutive premierships in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
Black is also the first player in VFL-AFL history to have reached 300 games, won a Brownlow Medal, played in a premiership and claimed a Norm Smith Medal.
