Ahead of his 150th game against the Sydney Swans on Sunday, Daniel Rich has reflected on the milestone.
“It’s a small achievement that I’m looking forward to but it’s not something you look towards when you first arrive at a footy club,” Rich told media on Tuesday.
“It’s something that happens over time and it’s a privilege to play 150 games for this football club.
“I love Brisbane. I’ve got a lot of good friends and family here in Brisbane and I obviously love the club and the boys and everything outside of footy as well.”
Rich is now in his ninth season with the Lions. With the most penetrating kick in the club – and one of the best in the League – he doesn't need to have huge numbers to make an impact.
He said while the loss to Port Adelaide was very disappointing, he is confident the Lions can bounce back against a winless Swans.
“We were nice and open and honest with each other (about the loss),” said Rich.
“I suppose that’s the important part about growing. You’ve got to be open and honest with how we performed.
“We’d like to think of it as hopefully a one off poor performance and one that we can bounce back from this weekend.”
