The Queensland under 18 state women’s team will take on New South Wales this Friday 19, in their first game of the 2017 NAB AFL Women’s Under-18 Championships.
Female Football High Performance Manager Craig Starcevich spoke about Queensland’s prospects in the upcoming series and the depth of talent at under 18 level.
“We’re confident that we have a good even bunch of players that can play in multiple positions and do different things, but essentially we really want to encourage players to take the game on,” said Starcevich.
“The talent coming through in the next couple of years is exceptional.”
"An All Australian team is picked every year and almost half to three quarters of those players could just about step into an AFLW team."
"It's pretty impressive."
Matches will be streamed live on the AFL Women’s YouTube channel
Scores will be posted on afl.com.au/womens and twitter: @AFLFemale / @AFLWomens
